What does it mean when people say a wine is “too tight?”
When a wine’s aromas and flavors are muted or not as expressive, you might hear someone using the descriptor “tight.” The cause could simply be because the wine is still young. Or, if the wine recently traveled and was seriously shaken, it may have bottle shock.
This does not mean you need to throw it out. We recommend opening the wine to let it “breathe” or decanting it. You can also hold on to your wine for some more time. Keep in mind wine is living and breathing, it deserves a second chance.
All of our wines are drinkable upon release. For aging information, please download our vintage chart.
