Adelaida Springs Ranch reaches an elevation of 1,700 feet in the rugged coastal mountains west of Paso Robles. Here, the vines are planted to shallow limestone-rich soils on steep slopes just 12 miles from the Pacific shoreline. While the ocean proximity creates cool growing conditions compared to other areas of Paso Robles, the high elevation ensures moderate low temperatures at night. Such conditions are ideal for maintaining excellent structure in red Bordeaux varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
