2007 Wines
Vintage Notes
After a relatively mild summer, without any extreme heat spikes, our grapes reached maturity. We kicked off the 2007 harvest with our Jardine Sauvignon Blanc on August 24th. Our crews picked the fruit by hand during the chilly night hours and delivered sound fruit to the winery early the next morning. After pressing, the juice was transferred to one of our stainless steel tanks for clarification. We racked the juice of the solids, 48 hours later, and then started the temperature controlled fermentation.
In early September we started our “RED” harvest with Syrah and Petite Sirah. Characteristics of this vintage include excellent levels of ripeness and Brix that are slightly higher than last year's. New in the portfolio is a small amount of Petite Sirah from our Creston Valley Vineyard. We picked our Syrah fruit from various blocks on our estate Huerhuero Vineyard and from two blocks on Ryan Road Vineyard. The Huerhuero fruit gives us Syrahs with deep color, good fruit concentration and well balanced tannin structure. The fruit from Ryan Road Vineyard tends to be darker, and more tannic; overall the bigger wine.
Our Roseum this year is a combination of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre and 5% Viognier. The Viognier and the Mourvèdre are new in this blend and should add even more character to this dry style Rosé!
2007 Chardonnay
Edna Ranch
Brilliant straw in color with aromas of lush ripe fruit, pineapple, citrus and apple pie with warm barrel spices. Tastes of baked apples, pear and cinnamon with hints of tropical fruits. Lush and rounded with a fresh, clean finish.
2007 Sauvignon Blanc
Jardine Vineyard
Brilliant pale straw in color with aromas of ripe dried apricots, peach and ripe melon. This wine is full bodied white wine with an intense creaminess on the palate with flavors of yellow peach and dried fruit; yet refreshing with well balanced acidity.
2007 Viognier
Huerhuero Vineyard
The color of straw with intense aromatics of dried apricot and peach, along with floral notes of honeysuckle. The mouth feel is soft and rich with long, persistent flavors of peach and candied ginger.
2007 Roseum
Huerhuero Vineyard
Dark coral in color, this wine has a fresh and aromatic bouquet of raspberries and white cherries with floral and white pepper accents. Flavors of wild strawberries, pomegranate and cranberry supported by vibrant acidity, with a clean dry finish.

Deep, brilliant garnet; aromas of intense rich, black fruit with undertones of oak, toast and coffee. A full-bodied, rich Cabernet Sauvignon with great structure and intense fruit; ripe dry tannins with a long focused finish.

Mountain Road Reserve
Dark garnet; aromas of red currant and spice with hints of anis and almond. A complex, medium bodied Cabernet; good structure with an elegant oak finish.

Deep, brilliant garnet; aromas of intense rich, black fruit with undertones of oak, toast and coffee. A full-bodied, rich Cabernet Sauvignon with great structure and intense fruit; ripe dry tannins with a long focused finish.

Deep, inky garnet, with flavors of black cherries and plums. Soft and luscious texture supported by structured tannins and balanced acidity; long finish.

Medium dark to purplish ruby with aromas of spice box and blackberry fruit. Big, rich texture; spicy and cedary with highly extracted blackberry flavors; full tannins with a lingering aftertaste.

Blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre
Dark vibrant garnet with aromas of black cherry and plum with dark currant and spice, violets and toasty oak. A lush, fresh and fruity wine with dense blackberry, ripe cherry and vanilla notes.

Deep garnet red, with rich and velvety texture, dark cherries; powerful tannins balanced by ripe fruit with a long finish.
2007 Signature
Estate Cuvée, Petit Verdot based blend
Dark, saturated garnet; earthy with notes of black fruit, dried figs and toasty oak. Rich and full-bodied with layers of flavors; blackberries, hints of cedar, cinnamon and currant accents. Ripe, silky tannins with a smooth, balanced finish.
2007 Suendero
Meritage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot blend
Deep garnet; spicy and earthy with integrated notes of chocolate and black ripe fruit. An elegant, dry blend with a strong tannin structure; hints of black cherries; very clean finish.
2007 Syrée
Syrah based blend
Dark ruby with intense, ripe black fruit, dark chocolate with toasty oak and bacon accents. Earthy, meaty character with notes of allspice. It is rich, lush and very integrated with a smooth finish and lively tannins.
2007 Zinfandel
Deep purple, very intense with notes of anise, cloves, baked strawberry and rhubarb pie with bacon. Big, full-bodied and packed with intense, sweet, ripe fruit; this wine has wonderful flavors of raspberry jam, white chocolate, spice and plum; the fruit is supported by elegant tannins; bright finish.
