WIN-WIN | 20-20 Sitewide Sale, a benefit for SLO Food Bank
Our communities are relying now more than ever on the support of food banks for access to wholesome nutrition. Before the current crisis, one in six people in SLO County struggled with food insecurity – that number has tripled in the last two months.
The SLO Food Bank distributes food in three ways — 1) through 77 partner agencies that have pick-up sites and food pantries throughout the county, 2) through a neighborhood food distribution service and, 3) in partnership with the county, directly to homes of self-isolating individuals.
The SLO Food Bank served around 3,000 households per month at the beginning of this year. That number rose to 8,000 in April, and is projected to hit 9,000 this month.
About 75% of the organization’s funding comes from community donations. Monetary donations have a tremendous impact – just $1 translates to 8 meals!
Please join us in our effort to support the SLO Food Bank as they work to meet the increased demand in our communities. You can do that by participating in our WIN-WIN 20-20 event, or by donating directly here.
Hunger Awareness Day is June 5. SLO Food Bank's signature event will be going virtual this year.
