Vinous Awards High Accolades to Vina Robles

Josh Raynolds recently reviewed several of our estate wines for an article titled, Paso Robles and Neighbors: New Releases for the Vinous September 2015 issue. We are pleased to be included with so many great local producers in San Luis Obispo County.

91 Points

2011 Suendero Glass-staining ruby. Sexy, expansive aromas of ripe black and blue fruits, vanilla and candied flowers, with suggestions of mocha and woodsmoke in the background. Palate-caressing blueberry and cassis flavors show a supple texture and slow-building spiciness. Open-knit and extremely easy to drink now, but finishes with strong thrust and velvety shaping tannins. —Josh Raynolds
$54.00/retail; $43.20/Wine Club

90 Points

2012 Petite Sirah – Estate Dark purple. Deeply pitched black and blue fruit aromas are complicated by suggestions of vanilla and cola. Fleshy cassis and blueberry flavors gain sweetness and spiciness with air, picking up licorice and smoke nuances. Finishes on a note of blackberry compote, with supple, harmonious tannins that come in late. —Josh Raynolds
$29.00/retail; $23.20/Wine Club

2012 Petit Verdot – Huerhuero Dark purple. Intense smoke- and spice-accented aromas of black and blue fruit flavors pick up a suave floral nuance with air. On the palate, intense boysenberry and floral pastille flavors put on weight and become spicier with aeration. This suave wine finishes with excellent clarity and slow-building tannins. —Josh Raynolds
$29.00/retail; $23.20/Wine Club

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon – Estate Inky ruby. Ripe cherry, pipe tobacco, woodsmoke and licorice on the deeply perfumed nose. Gently sweet dark fruit and rose pastille flavors pick up suggestions of mocha and vanilla with air. Finishes smooth and broad, with fine-grained tannins and an echoing vanilla note. —Josh Raynolds
$24.00/retail; $19.20/Wine Club
